CORVALLIS-The culmination of the spring was a success for Oregon State. In the spring game, OSU ran 95 plays plus a number of special teams sequences, and they incurred no major injuries. One of the major storylines -- the great play from backup QB Cody Vaz, who vastly outplayed Sean Mannion. Obum Gwacham and Storm Woods were two other offensive standouts, working mostly with the second team.

Do we have a QB competition in Corvallis or what? The quarterbacks looked good as the Beavers wrapped up spring practice at Reser Stadium, with incumbant Sean Mannion, Cody Vaz and third-stringer Jack Lomax all throwing well this week.
