Oklahoma head football coach Bob Stoops had a few words to say about the critics of Sooner starting quarterback Landry Jones following the team's 30-13 loss to Notre Dame. None of which, needless to say, were very complementary.
“People aren't very intelligent about
football,” Stoops said. “I'm not criticizing them; it's not what they
do. ... People...
The Notre Dame Fighting Irish will visit Norman, OK this weekend. Awaiting the Irish will be the Oklahoma Sooners. The Sooners are a double digit favorite and for good reason, Oklahoma has lost four games in fourteen years at home since Bob Stoops took over the coach reigns.
Few think Notre Dame have a chance against the Sooners. The better question may be how much better is Oklahoma...
EVERYBODY GOT GUNS!
Oh, you’ve seen this move before in Norman, but that doesn’t make it any less magnificent. Lee Corso picked the Oklahoma Sooners to take down Notre Dame on GameDay, and to celebrate the pick he busted out the heavy artillery. Quite frankly, if I were producing the show, I would require Lee Corso to shoot [...]
Leading rusher Damien Williams and starting left tackle Lane Johnson missed practice Monday No. 14 Oklahoma with ankle injuries, but coach Bob Stoops is holding out hope they'll be able to play Saturday at Iowa State.
Williams and Johnson were both injured in the Sooners' 30-13 loss to Notre Dame on Saturday. Stoops said Monday at his weekly news conference that he hopes...
Doing a front flip is hard enough. Doing it in football pads over a defender adds to the degree of difficulty. Although it's only a scrimmage, one youngster took his gymnastic talents to the gridiron, and flipped over his teammate/defender during practice. The young man then continues past the rest of the defense, before stopping his run prior to reaching the endzone...
Manti Te’o is just a straight-up beast. The Flyin’ Hawaiian had some havoc reeked on the Oklahoma Sooners offense on Saturday night, including the vicious hit when he laid out quarterback Landry Jones. Take a look at what the Notre Dame senior did in the GIFs below:

With Saturday’s win against number eight Oklahoma the Notre Dame Fighting Irish have left any questions to whether they are “back” or not. The Irish entered the game as double digit underdogs and left with a thrilling victory. Under Bob Stoops the Sooners have never been a pushover. Earlier this year Oklahoma dropped a game against Kansas State but knew that they still had...
Welcome back to another edition of the college football awards, which are a little late this week thanks to us being caught in the rubble of the BCS shake-up this weke, much like every one else.Let's get started...The "Big Game Bob comes up small" award goes to Bob StoopsThis one is really your fault, ESPN. Because you, more than anyone involved in the college football...
Good times were had on ESPN's College Gameday this Saturday morning.Seen here is analyst Lee Corso firing a gun after picking the Oklahoma Sooners to win, and that apparently scares the living daylight out of colleague Kirk Herbstreit.
ESPN GameDay hasn’t visited Norma, Oklahoma since 2008 when OU beat Texas Tech, 65-21. That changes this morning. The Sooners are 5-1 when GameDay is on campus.
One more interesting item, this is the first meeting between Oklahoma and Notre Dame since 1966.
