A couple weeks ago during the spring scrimmage, some people on twitter commented about how Pat O'Donnell wasn't there. According to this article by the great Andrea Adelson at ESPN, O'Donnell took some personal time this spring. One plus one equals two in this scenario because the punter has left the Cincinnati program. O'Donnell, a Lakewood, Florida native, is transferring to Miami.  O'Donnell is eligible to play right away for Miami. He was listed as the starter on their spring depth chart, but the depth chart has been changed and doesn't include him. He's going to punt for Miami though. O'Donnell averaged 41.8 yards a punt last season. He was second team All-Big East. He was the special teams player of the week after his effort against Virginia Tech. O'Donnell was first team in 2011 when he averaged 43.8 yards a punt. POD was also known as the freak for being a freak athlete. He is 6'5, 220 according to the roster and was considered one of the strongest Bearcats.  UC has 2 other punters on the roster. They are junior John Lloyd and sophomore Eric Ernst. If Ernst's name sounds familiar, it's because he played at McNick. Neither has played in a game. I don't know if Tony Miliano can punt. Maybe he would be in the running as well.  The reasons behind the transfer haven't come out. I hope for his sake that everything is alright for Pat O'Donnell. It was a joy watching him boom footballs down the field. Unfortunately, the only picture I had of POD was of him getting the punt blocked against Louisville 2 years ago. Hopefully that doesn't happen to him at Miami. Best of luck to Pat.
