Though Matt McGloin played the full game against Northwestern last week, Joe Paterno remains reluctant to publicly name him the starting quarterback. In fact, the Penn State coach doesn't want to discuss his quarterbacks much at all. "I'm going to start at quarterback this week," Paterno joked during his Tuesday press conference. Asked whether McGloin or Rob Bolden will start against Illinois, Paterno said, "I haven't got the slightest idea." Asked to evaluate McGloin's play against Northwestern, Paterno said, 'I thought Matt did a good job." And asked whether he has grown weary of questions about his quarterbacks, Paterno said, " Well, if you guys want to talk about it, you can talk all you want. I'm not talking about it." Once the questions steered away from quarterback, Paterno was in fine form. He had nothing but praise for Illinois, calling it "the best football team we've played outside of Alabama."
