The NFL has allowed teams to sign undrafted free agents tonight, and according to multiple media reports (hat tip to Greg Bedard of the Boston Globe), the Patriots have already inked two undrafted rookie free agents. The first, offensive tackle Corey Woods of Purdue, is a four year starter who played both sides of the line for the Zips. While touted as being fundamentally sound and experienced, Woods is a little bit stiff in the hips and can struggle with speed rushers. The Patriots also reportedly signed Jeremy Ross, the return specialist / receiver out of California. Ross, standing at 6' and 209 lbs, is a thick-built receiver who was started sparingly during his career at Cal.
