Rutgers wearing patriotic helmet vs. Army

Coach Greg Schiano and the Rutgers football program have all of the respect in the world for Army as these two teams prepare to square off against one another on Saturday at Yankee Stadium. In fact, Rutgers has so much respect for Army not just for what they do on the field, but off the field as well–they’re willing to honor their opponents during the game with a new helmet. With Veteran’s Day set to take place on Friday, the Rutgers football team decided to pay their respects towards our country and opponent by wearing patriotic helmets during the game. As you can see in the photo above, the team’s helmets will represent the American flag inside the “R” logo–which looks absolutely awesome. Along with Veteran’s Day being on Friday, Schiano also made it clear this week that one of the main reasons why he wants his team to pay respect to Army is because of the support they gave over the last year to Eric LeGrand–who was paralyzed from the neck down during last year’s game.&#...
