2011 Heisman Trophy winner Robert Griffin III is a different sort of cat. Griffin has displayed an interesting sense of style in recent weeks that suggests that his immense athletic ability is coupled with a light-hearted and playful personality.

In today’s presser at Baylor– at which Griffin declared his intentions to become eligible for the 2012 NFL Draft– the dual-threat quarterback broke out a fashionable pair of green and purple Barney socks.

Well, why the hell not?

Shouldn’t RGIII enjoy himself after all and not take himself as seriously as everyone else seems to? I think so.

Retailers: It may not be a bad idea to stock the Barney socks just in case. RGIII’s a star in the making and trends follow stars.

Even if it is a trend featuring a talking purple dinosaur.
