Branden Smith entered a pretrial diversion program as a result of his Alabama pot bust. Most pretrial diversion programs allows for charges to be dismissed if the program is successfully completed.
Smith was ordered to pay $1,034 in court costs on May 18 when he was placed into the program. He was arrested on March 11 on his way to Panama City, Fla.
Georgia has not announced a suspension for the senior, but such an arrest would require him to miss at least one game—10 percent of a season–under Athletic Association policy. No announcement on Smith’s suspension is imminent, according to senior associate athletic director Claude Felton this afternoon.

Bulldogs talented, but is talent enough?
The chatter has already begun.
On internet message boards and at coffee shop counters from the foothills of Appalachia to the blackwater swamps of the Suwannee, Georgia Bulldog fans have begun their ritual song of summer. It's an upbeat little ditty with lyrics that fall somewhere between eternal optimism and a painful, uncomfortable, unhealthy obsession.
For it is during these...
Mark Richt’s new contract is interesting
Georgia Bulldogs head coach Mark Richt has been on the hot seat for the last few years because, well, it’s the SEC and finishing anywhere other than at the top is unacceptable even if it is unreasonable. The hot seat talk settled down after Georgia took the SEC East last season and played LSU in the SEC Championship game.
Georgia has since decided that this is good enough for...
Georgia Bulldogs: The Song Remains the Same
You don’t ever have to go very far to find a doubter or two of Georgia’s ability to take the talent off the paper and place it on the field. Just check what Steve Eubanks had to say about Georgia’s perennial attitude of “this is the year”: …This time they really mean it. This time is different. This time there is Aaron Murray at quarterback and Todd Grantham leading a...
Georgia Bulldogs: Former QB Has Some Advice for Aaron Murray
Buck Belue, he of “give-it-to-Herschel-and-we-can-win-a-championship” fame, has a little advice for Aaron Murray this season. …If protection breaks down, wrap it up and go down. Don’t try to fit it in tight windows. Scramble, but protect the ball, on the run. Turning it over a bunch just doesn’t make good sense this season. The Bulldogs’ defense will be forcing a lot...

The new deal will give the coach...
Georgia Recruiting: 2013 DB Prospect Brendan Langley Isn’t Tipping His Hand
In the latest episode of “As The Recruiting World Turns”, Brendan Langley’s storyline takes center stage in an episode entitled of “where will he go, what will he do?” Two weeks ago the four-star corner out of Kell High School in Marietta, GA listed the Georgia Bulldogs as his No. 1 school, but now they are barely on his radar—falling below not only Alabama but Tennessee...

Gamblers pick Dawgs to win BCSNC:
At 19-to-1, Georgia has the seventh-best odds to win the national championship. Aaron Murray, who set a school record with 35 touchdown passes in 2011, is among the many returning starters—the Bulldogs return seven on offense and nine on defense.
The passing game will again be one of the country’s best, and Georgia...
