Prospect Watch: DE/OLB Bruce Irvin

As the Jets journey towards the draft in April, I will examine prospects that could potentially be on the Jets’ draft board. College: West Virginia Measurables: 6’2″ 245 lbs Projected Round: 2nd or 3rd Positives Irvin has excellent instincts and is regularly around the ball and has the ability to change direction and get to it. He can chase down running backs and hold his own relatively well against the run. He is a physical tackler who constantly goes for the strip and isn’t afraid to bring down players bigger than he is. He has a non-stop motor and is well noted for his pass rushing abilities. He is very quick off the edge and has the flexibility to turn the corner. He can push his blockers into the backfield and keeps moving after contact and has a decent repertoire of pass rush moves.
