Butch Jones has said the starting QB spot for the game this Saturday is open for competition, with Munchie Legaux as the leader. It definitely sounds like Jordan Luallen is going to be in the mix in one way or the other. Jones said there are packages for Luallen for this week by saying:

“We’re going to make sure that we have packages for Jordan Luallen because he brings another dimension to the game.”

Brandon Kay is also going to get reps. I wonder if either one of those guys out practices Munchie this week he will be the starter. Coach?

"If they have a better week of practice than Munchie, they’ll be the starter.”

Jones went on to say that Munchie didn't get a lot of help from the people around him, and that Munchie's footwork was a problem. As was seeing the different blitzes that Rutgers threw at the sophomore QB. Jones did sound like Legaux has some leeway, saying

“The game speed reps and experience will benefit him going into this week,” Jones said. “When you’re playing a starter for the first time, there’s a phase you’re going to go through. Everything has to be accelerated. Munchie is the first person to understand that.”

One would think, if they thought exactly like me and why wouldn't you, that Munchie is going to start, Luallen is going to come in like the 4th series, and if Munchie is struggling like he has been at the start, Luallen is going to get an extended look. I think Brandon Kay is the back up to the back up plan. I also think that this is some motivation to Munchie and the rest of the offense to get back on track. Syracuse isn't the 85 Bears, but they shut off West Virginia's high profile offense. This is a cruicial game for the Big East championship hopes. One that can't afford another sputtering offensive performance.

Now for the blog poll. Screw it, Houston is 2. I don't want to see a rematch of anything. Ok State falls only 4 spots, Oregon and Oklahoma drop 6 and 5. The big droppers are Clemson, 9, and Nebraska, 10. Penn State is back in. I'm pretty sure I didn't have Georgia Tech or Virginia ranked last week. I meant to rank Virginia under Wisconsin, but whatever. UC, Southern Miss and West Virginia are out. West Virginia because of Penn State.
