The Gators are now a perfect 3-0 and leave Knoxville victorious after a 37-20 victory over the Volunteers. Quarterback Jeff Driskel put on a strong performance and seemed to solidify that he's the man for the job. The Gators came back from a halftime deficit with the offense firing on all cylinders to take the win.
BEST OF MAXIM
The Florida Gators have moved up to No. 14 in both major polls. The Gators can attribute the move to a second half against the Tennessee Volunteers that was a thing of beauty. Starting the season at No. 23, the Gators have showed enough improvement over the first three games to warrant a top-15 ranking by the voters. Is this rise a sign of things to come? Or simply a matter of an...

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Sophomore quarterback Jeff Driskel (Oviedo, Fla.) has been named the SEC Offensive Player of the Week, announced by the league on Monday. Driskel earns the award for his performance in the Gators’ 37-20 victory over Tennessee and is the first weekly honor of his career.
If there was play that opened up the floodgates for Florida’s 37 points of offense on Saturday it was the well-drawn up and executed 80 yard run by then ‘wildcat’ quarterback Trey Burton. Burton had already run for one touchdown earlier in the game, but that one set the tone for the Gators’ big finish.
Once the decision was made on a starting quarterback, things were going to be easier. But not easy. Florida’s Jeff Driskel was named the starting quarterback after game one of the season and it meant he had to go on the road into hostile environments in both of his first starts. There have been some bumps and bruises, but Driskel has come on and looked the part. The test continues Saturday.

It is the second conference game of the season, but don’t ask Michael Taylor to put more emphasis than that on the upcoming matchup with Tennessee. It is one of 12 on the schedule and one of eight in conference. The Gators need to win this one like they needed to win the last one and the next. Respect for the opponent because it is an opponent.
KNOXVILLE, Tenn.—With an offense predicated on rushing, it can take time for the Florida offense to break a game open. Saturday was no different. The Gators secured their second win in as many weekends while trailing at the half. The focus of the offseason program was key. Florida struggled as the games wore on in 2011. Through three games in 2012, the Gators are thriving in the second half.
The Florida Gators and the Tennessee Volunteers play this weekend and I just wanted an excuse to put this picture in before Cripple Bowl 2012 is played.

Another win, another new feature at TBG. Its name is, of course, inspired by our quarterback Jeff Driskel and Sports Illustrated’s Peter King’s Monday Morning Quarterback, which discusses a plethora of topics concerning the week’s NFL games. We hope to do something similar–but on a minor, more pertaining to us level (Don’t worry, it won’t be nearly as long.) Let me know...
The Florida Gators defeated the Tennessee Volunteers 37-20 on Saturday night after putting together a near perfect second half. I’ll get into the game as a whole, but first, a new feature I call What I Wrote at the Half. (Everything in italics was written at the half without any knowledge of the final 30 minutes. No, I can’t predict the future.)
The offense might not destroy...
The Florida Gators travel to Knoxville, TN to face the Tennessee Volunteers in a rivalry game with few equals for either on the schedule. It’s hate week for both; the first week of the college football season in which the beautiful and the ugly come out from both fanbases. Sure, the Gators and Vols have both played two games early in the 2012 college football season, but take a...
