Early projections have Lamar Miller rated as the second best tailback in the 2012 draft.
Proof of this can be found in the record-setting 65 underclassmen who have been ruled eligible for the 2012 NFL draft, which will take place on April 26-28 in New York.
That number shatters the old record set last year, which was 56 underclassmen entering the draft.
A lot of the early college defections have to do with the new rookie wage scale, which keeps the salaries of the rookie class relatively low.
That explains why players are coming out earlier – even if they aren’t projected as first-rounders – because they know the real money comes on the second contract. The soon you get to the second contract the sooner they’ll be paid big dollars.
Simple math to me, and the cost of putting in a rookie wage scale into the new CBA. Who loses….col...
