One of the most highly anticipated college football rivalry games, Ohio State vs. Michigan, has been largely one-sided for the past decade. But the Wolverines’ newest starting quarterback, Devin Gardner, is looking to turn things around starting in 2013. While Michigan has lost eight of the past nine versus its arch rival, its new signal-caller made it known that he thinks the Buckeyes’ winning ways are going to come to a halt.
Gardner went on the “Huge Show” on WBBL 107.3 Monday morning and dropped quite the statement about the upcoming matchup. From The Detroit News:
“We always have room for improvement, but this is definitely a championship-caliber football team that will win in the Big House against Ohio State.” ”We don’t feel we’re inferior to anyone in the country, and we’re going to give it our all.”
While you have to love his confidence, you can also imagine this is going to make for some easy bulletin board material for OSU coach Urban Meyer. Last we checked, that doesn’t usually work out well for his opponents.
For reference, Michigan leads the all-time series against Ohio State, 58-44-6.
