California and LSU were discovered to be involved with scout Willie Lyles, the man whom Oregon hired to influence potential recruits, according to a report by The Oregonian. Lyles, a Houston-based prep football scout, is being investigated by the NCAA for allegations that Oregon was paying him to influence prospects to play for the Ducks. Reports indicate Oregon paid up to $25,000 for his services. The Oregonian reports that Cal and LSU also paid for Lyles' help, but at much lower costs.
