Southern California has lost its second player to the NFL draft. USC Trojans
Cornerback Nickell Robey has decided to leave the school early for the NFL. He reportedly told head coach Lane Kiffin of his decision this past week.
“He respected my decision,” said Robey. “It’s a business decision, like any other important decision I’ve made my whole life. It’s the best thing for my family and for me.”
He is reportedly the 70th underclassmen to make the jump for the NFL since the season has ended. He is the 12th cornerback to do it.
According to his bio, he was the first true freshman at the school to start a season opener at cornerback in the post-World War II era. He started 37 consecutive games in his three years at the school.
