Roy Helu RB Nebraska Ht: 6’0″ Wt: 219 Strengths: Prototypical size. A consistent runner who has shown the ability to be workhorse. A powerful between-the-tackles runner. Has the strength to consistently shed tackles. A physical player who looks for contact. Stays low to the ground and does a nice job lowering his shoulder. Some experience as a receiver out of the backfield. Weaknesses: Lots of wear and tear already; 582 touches over the past three seasons. Lacks breakaway speed. Doesn’t have the agility to make guys miss. Struggles as a blocker; gives a decent effort but just doesn’t have great technique. Comments: Helu has the skill set of a solid backup at the next level. He has the size and enough speed to play in the NFL and be productive. He lacks the elite athleticism to project as a starter, but he’s a safe mid-round pick for a team looking for depth at running back.
