The Rutgers Athletic Department apparently got a little creative when they constructed Greg Schiano's new contract two years ago. Read the article for more details, but basically the AD set up the marketing firm they work with to pay some of Schiano's contract, that way it didn't go on the books for Rutgers. That and also included was a type of "Jeff Tedford clause" where Schiano could leave if the stadium updates that were promised weren't delivered. Seems a little shady, or a little smart depending on your viewpoint.
