When Alabama had its Pro Day Wednesday, three noticeable performers were 2011 Crimson Tide cornerbacks Dre Kirkpatrick, DeQuan Menzie, and Phelon Jones. And all have a chance to be taken in the NFL draft in April. If Bama is losing three cornerbacks, it’s reasonable to say that the position—which calls for two men--is in need of rebuilding.

Alabama Basketball Plays One At A Time
Alabama Football Coach Nick Saban has made everyone—fans and reporters—aware of the dumb question syndrome. One type question that most reporters can’t help but ask at some point is the one that involves something that didn’t happen. “What if it had?” It’s asked because sometimes it elicits an interesting answer.
New Tide Team Has First Spring Work
Been there, done that. The 2009 Alabama football team won the national championship. In 2010, Bama fell off to a 10-3 record. Now Alabama is following up the 2011 national championship, and Crimson Tide Coach Nick Saban wants his team to be sure to realize it is not the national championship team.

Unique Title Sweep Possible For Tide
Alabama football entered the year with a lofty ranking, nothing new for a program flush with national championships. At the end of the season, the Crimson Tide claimed a 14th title. Anthony Grant’s third Alabama basketball team had preseason respect with a top 25 spot in the polls. Absent from the NCAA Tournament since 2006, they expect to be included in the field of 68 announced Sunday.
Inside Linebacker Positions Strong
In Alabama’s 3-4 defense, the “4” is the number of linebackers. Although the Crimson Tide doesn’t always (or even usually) set up in the 3-4 alignment, Bama does develop men for each of the four spots. Middle and weakside are the inside linebacker positions, while strongside and jack are the outside positions.
Three-Point Run Helps Gators Advance
The box score didn't look pretty for Florida. Alabama shot almost 15% better than the Gators, won the rebounding margin by five and the teams were similar from the free throw line. Somehow, No. 19 Florida managed still to pull out a 66-63 win over the Crimson Tide to advance to the SEC Tournament semifinals. Florida head coach Billy Donovan chalked it up to the late three-pointers.
