Rutgers has two straight wins against challenging conference opponents. The first came at home against defending national champion Connecticut and the second came on the road against Pittsburgh in convincing fashion. The true test of progress, however, comes Saturday in Morgantown, W.V. against a team that embarrassed the Scarlet Knights 10 days ago.
Rutgers came to West Virginia looking to make a statement after an embarrassing home loss 10 days ago. But for the second time, The Mountaineers were too much for the Scarlet Knights. In control from the opening tip, West Virginia sent Rutgers home with an 84-60 loss.

Meredith Long has been named head coach of the Rutgers field hockey program, as announced by Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Tim Pernetti. Long – a former high school All-American – spent the past two seasons as an assistant coach with the Scarlet Knights.
Rutgers has played exceptionally well since WVU clobbered the Scarlet Knights on the night of Jan. 4, and so the Mountaineers expect a stern test from RU on Saturday regardless of the first game's result.

The 18th-ranked Rutgers wrestling team advanced at the 2012 Virginia Duals, winning 24-21 over Campbell on Saturday to move forward in the tournaments consolation rounds.
Dane Miller promised at practice after the West Virginia loss that he would not let the Rutgers basketball team fade away into another disappointing season. Guaranteeing more energy on the court, Miller has backed up his words so far in consecutive wins.
