Ball was on the border of being a three or four star running back out of Missouri. Wisconsin beat out Missouri, Stanford, Kansas, and Northwestern for his services. Nebraska had an interest, but they never made an offer. Ball was ranked between 30-50 on the positional rankings. He committed in June of 2008, and was generally solidly in the hold of the Badgers even when Missouri made a charge.
