South Carolina wide receiver Alshon Jeffery has a reputation that precedes him.
One of the country’s most talented, and raw wideouts, Jeffery is also a hothead who tends to let his temper get the best of him at the worst possible times.
Jeffery certainly didn’t make today an exception, as he turned in a solid performance in South Carolina’s 30-13 victory over the Nebraska Cornhuskers, tallying four catches for 178 yards and a show-stopping hail mary touchdown.
Jeffery also managed to get a fight in during this afternoon’s game as he scuffled with Nebraska cornerback Alfonzo Dennard during the third quarter, leading to the ejection of both players.
In spite of his ejection, media members with votes for the Capital One Bowl MVP award still voted for Jeffrey to take home the honor.
Some things never cease to amaze.
Sure, Alshon Jeffery had a dominating peformance this afternoon and was undoubtedly the most dominant player on the field, he was also unable to keep his emotions in check and getting ejected could have well cost his team the game under different circumstances.
Is this the type of behavior that should be awarded?
Apparently so.
