The University of South Carolina held their pro day yesterday and while everyone is paying attention to the workouts of Matt Barkley and Manti Te'o, the Ol' Ball Coach is upset over the lack of a national spotlight given to his Gamecock players.  Specifically, Spurrier was miffed that ESPN chose to cover Matt Barkley's pro day at USC while his players toiled away in anonymity.  It even caused Spurrier to suggest he should take his team and go play on Fox Sports. Spurrier told The State in Columbia: “I noticed both USCs had their pro timing day today,” Spurrier told The State. “One of them finished No. 7 in the country last year, the other was not in the Top 25, yet ESPN decided to go out to the one in California which did not finish in the Top 25 and televise their pro timing day live. It’s interesting that (ESPN doesn’t) come around here on signing day, they don’t come around here on pro timing day, and yet they want us to play all these Thursday night games for them, which we do. “Maybe we need to consider playing on that new network, what is it? Fox Sports Live?”   First of all, it's Fox Sports 1 and not Fox Sports Live.  Second of all, Spurrier just can't up and leave ESPN and take South Carolina games to the highest bidder because of that little SEC contract with ESPN.  Although I'm sure Fox would love to get in the business of SEC football, that ain't happening. Third of all, is this really an SEC coach complaining about getting no attention from ESPN?  Hahahahahahahaha!  I've seen it all now.  Yes, it's such a terrible plight for those schools like South Carolina who have to toil away in the anonymity of nationally televised games, Top 15 rankings, and authoritarian rule over the sport of college football.  Who knew Steve Spurrier was such a jokester. By the way, I think SportsCenter just replayed Jadeveon Clowney's hit again, although I don't think Steve Spurrier is complaining about that. [GoGamecocks.com]
