The Syracuse University football team had high expectations and got off to a hot start coming off a 7-5 record and its first bowl win since 2001. Doug Marrone rejuvenated the Syracuse football program within his first three years of coaching his Alma matter. He took over the reins for former coach Greg Robinson who won an abysmal 10 wins in four years. Coach Marrone immediately turned the program around winning 12 games in his first two seasons and led his team to its first winning season since 2001. In his third year he returned many key components to his team, and set several team goals. Freshman running back Adonis Ameen-More said “Win the big east, try to get to a BCS bowl, and win a national championship, that should be every team’s goal at the start of the season.”
The team started off great and kept their high hopes. They won four out of their first six games and still had a conference championship in their sights. The following week they were set to play their biggest rival...
