Sportsday:
For the second time this month Tampa Bay has raided the Cowboys' practice squad, this time taking quarterback Rudy Carpenter.
The Buccaneers signed cornerback Mike Mickens on Nov 2. By league rule, Carpenter has to be on Tampa Bay's 53-man roster for three weeks.
Carpenter joined the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent out of Arizona State, but he came with the recommendation of Hall of Famer Joe Montana, who worked with Carpenter before the draft. Carpenter started a record 43-straight games at Arizona State, throwing for 10,491 yards and 81 touchdown passes.
In his lone preseason performance vs. Minnesota, Carpenter completed 12-of-18 passes for 125 yards and a touchdown.
