Quarterback Teddy Bridgewater and Linebacker Preston Brown have been honored by the Big East for their outstanding performances on Friday night as Louisville defeated Cincinnati 34-31 in overtime. Bridgewater was named the Big East offensive player of the week while Brown was named defensive player of the week. Bridgewater struggled in the first half, but had a huge second half, finishing with a career high 416 passing yards. He was 24-of-41 with two touchdowns and an interception. Bridgewater is averaging 9.2 yards per completion, which ranks 9th in the country. Brown finished with a team 13 total tackles and grabbed his first interception of the season against his hometown team, Cincinnati. He is second on the team with 26 total solo tackles on the season. Louisville’s defense has struggled in conference play, but this is the third consecutive week that the Big East defensive player of the week has went a Louisville Cardinal.
