Bernard Pierce has had an incredible career at Temple, and that career has now officially come to an end. Pierce announced that he will forego his senior season and enter the NFL Draft.
Here is Pierce's statement:
“At this time, I would like to announce that I am officially giving up my senior year of eligibility and declaring myself available for the 2012 NFL Draft,” Pierce said. “Since I was a little kid, I dreamed of one day playing for an NFL team. Today, I take one step closer to fulfilling that dream. It has been a hard decision to make, and took a lot of soul-searching, but I believe that it is the right decision for me and my career. I would like to take this time to thank Coach Steve Addazio, Coach Tyree Foreman, and all the staff here at Temple, for helping to shape and mold my football talent. I would like to thank Temple University for all the educational and athletic opportunities it has provided me. I would like to thank my teammates and all the Owl fans out there, and my family and friends for supporting me. Most importantly, I would like to thank my mother, for believing in me and helping me try to fulfill my dream. Thanks, Mom! I would also like to thank my late grandmother Ora, who was the rock of our family. I hope to make all of Temple Nation proud of me in the NFL. Thank you.”
