Terrelle Pryor to hold supplemental draft party for himself

 

The NFL supplemental draft– in most years– is nothing more than a formality that takes place between teams and behind closed doors.

At 1 pm.

On a Monday.

This year, however, the supplemental draft stars one of the more controversial figures in college football, former Ohio State quarterback, Terrelle Pryor.

It would be fairly reasonable to assume that Pryor would sit at home, maybe with some family, and see who selects him in the supplemental draft– who the team is that is willing to take a guy in Week 6 and see what he can do with little seasoning and even less certainty.

Nope.

According to sources, Terrelle Pryor is holding a supplemental draft “party”for himself, a party which the NFL Network has sent a reporter to cover.

Seriously, Terrelle?

I’m not necessarily surprised, but still somehow amazed that he is not only throwing this party for himself, but is throwing a party for a consquence that is directly related to his previous questionable behavior.

If Pryor had played by the rules at Ohio State and left under good terms, he would have been a part of this past spring’s regular NFL draft with all the other pro football hopefuls.

But, he didn’t, and being able to be selected in the supplemental draft is nothing more than a consolation prize given by a league that doesn’t seem to believe that he will succeed within its construct anyway.

If someone had thrown this party for Pryor, that’s one thing.

The fact that he’s throwing it for himself, is just, well, odd.

And sad at that.
