Apparently after Ohio State’s victory over Iowa last night, Kirk Herbstreit was none too impressed with Terrelle Pryor or the Buckeyes. Now, I have yet to locate the exact statements that have been described as a rant against Pryor as a player and as a leader, but after hearing about the comments, Terrelle Pryor shot back. On his twitter account @Tpeezy2, Pryor posted the following tweet: “Heard Kirk Herbstreit was dogging us. He a fake buckeye. Fake as hell.” Pryor then removed the tweet and replaced it with “Fake Buckeye.” First let me say that I don’t like “Herbie” at all. In personal settings as well as on TV he’s an arrogant asshole who thinks he’s much more important than he actually is. He also does nothing but spew the typical ESPN bias and act like a hypocrite. But with that being said, I too, have significant issues with Pryor as a player and a leader and with the Buckeyes program. I don’t know yet what Herbie said to set Pryor off, but it may have been warranted. Pryor has demonstrated that he is extremely immature, childish, and selfish. He has failed to deliver as the prospect he was hyped up to be and despite tremendous physical tools, he rarely performs up to expectations. He also is rarely able to keep his mouth shut which is why this outburst should not be a surprise to anyone who follows the Buckeyes. And following a gutsy and critical win for the Buckeyes and heading into their rivalry game with the Michigan Wolverines, Pryor is more concerned with what a TV analyst has to say than with his team and his preparation. I don’t care if Herbie went to Ohio State or not. He rarely speaks objectively and truthfully and if he actually did so this time, then good for him. There are SEVERAL issues with Pryor and with the Buckeye program that most hardcore Buckeye fans refuse to acknowledge. And that’s fine… I love Buckeye fans and I love the dedication. But the reality is, there are issues and Pryor’s response is just another example in his immaturity and lack of leadership.
