Texas A&M takes on Arkansas this Saturday in their first road game of the season. If the Aggies can pull it off, this will be their first SEC win of the season. Both teams are entering the field with 3-1 records, and Texas A&M seems to have the advantage after almost taking down No. 1 ranked Alabama. Arkansas has come out on top versus Louisiana, Samford, and Southern Miss but were upset last week in their 28-24 loss to Rutgers. Texas A&M has wins over Rice, Sam Houston State, and SMU but had a hard loss against last season’s foe Alabama. Arkansas head coach Bret Bielema has high hopes for this game and is excited to see his home field completely packed. Bielema said, “From our standpoint as coaches, we want to make it a big game. Texas A&M has got a loss. We’ve got a loss. They’re a top-10 team and have the returning Heisman Trophy candidate.” So how exactly will Texas A&M take down the Razorbacks on the road this Saturday? The Aggies will have to shut down their running game. They have played spread teams in three of their first four games so the defense has been starting with a 4-2-5 scheme. The team is predicted to start this game with a 4-3 defense to attempt to hold back Arkansas. The Razorbacks are currently averaging 246 yards rushing yards per game which seems scary when noticing the Aggies shaky defense. The TAMU defense is giving up 218 yards rushing and 5.9 yards per carry. After suffering hard defensive suspensions in the beginning of the season, the Aggies defense has seemingly started to click. We have heard all season: defense, defense, defense. They showed great improvement last week against SMU and hopefully will show a more unified front this week. Arkansas is pumped to play such a huge game on their own turf, but their offense can’t hang with TAMU. Brett Davis-US PRESSWIRE I expect Manziel to be on fire. He will make huge plays and probably some impossible ones too. I mean, what else do you expect from Johnny Football? If the Aggies can set a gap between themselves and the Hogs on offense, then Manziel will be leading his team to their season’s first SEC win.
