PLAYERS: Kenny Vaccaro
Kenny Vaccaro didn't help himself with a sluggish 40-yard dash time at the NFL Scouting Combine on Tuesday, but a lack of straight-line speed doesn't hurt safety prospects the way it might a cornerback. The Texas safety clocked an official 4.63 seconds, a disappointing result, but Vaccaro looked good in the remaining drills. At Texas, Vaccaro caused headaches for wideouts from the slot position. He showed plenty of speed staying with receivers on their routes and downfield, even if he's viewed as a player who must become more reliable in the back-half of the field. With so many teams around the NFL searching for starting help or depth at the position, his slow time probably won't scare teams away from Vaccaro as the 2013 NFL Draft's top prospect at safety.
