Texas Tech has the upset of the week after dominating No. 5 West Virginia.  Tech rebounded from a loss to Oklahoma by dominating No. 5 West Virginia (49-14) in the most lopsided win over a top 5 team in school history. Tech putting up 49 points wasn’t all that surprising after the West Virginia defense had given up 108 in the previous two games combined.  It was the Tech defense that shined after shutting down the leading Heisman candidate, Geno Smith. The Good:  Seth Doege looked like he was campaigning for the Heisman after a career day in Lubbock.Doege was making big plays all night which included a 61-yard pass to Jace Amaro and a 3-yard run to convert a 4th down that led to a 14-0 lead for the Red Raiders. He had West Virginia guessing all night by spreading the ball around to 11 different receivers.  Doege connected with 32 passes on 42 attempts accumulating 499 yards passing and the six touchdowns matched his career high. The Bad:  The Lubbock police spent more time on the field than West Virginia spent in the end zone.A crazed fan made his way onto the field late in the 4th quarter until he was finally brought down somewhere around the 46-yard line.  Not only will this guy be facing heavy fines and possible jail time, but ABC didn't give him his 15 minutes, what a waste. Stadium security and Lubbock police escorted the fan off the field and the game continued without an excessive delay. The Ugly:  West Virginia finished the game 2-for-7 on fourth down attempts.West Virginia saw success last week against Texas as they converted on all five 4th down attempts but Lubbock proved to be a different story.Four times the Mountaineers were in field goal range and failed to convert on 4th down.  It seems like 12 points doesn't amount to anything in a 35-point loss, but momentum and confidence can change the course of a game.If West Virginia would have settled for field goals on their first two attempts they would have narrowed the lead to a one possession game instead of a 21-7 deficit.
