Even as a Miami Hurricanes fan, I would find it hard to accept a scholarship if I were offered one. If I were an elite athlete looking to compete in Division I football,  the Miami Hurricanes would have to really try to bring me a good effort for me to sign. Firstly, the obvious Nevin Shapiro scandal will eventually cripple the privileges of the program. Secondly, the team is not exactly as competitive as it was a few years back. Emerging from a dreadful season loaded with awful losses, close wins, and dreadful play specifically from the defense, the Miami Hurricanes look like they have the type of talent on tap to evaluate and bring forth into a competitive side. The biggest failures of the Randy Shannon era was his ineptitude to develop the best talent he had recruited. While that vaunted 2008 class brought some terrific athletes from all over the state and abroad, there were far too many duds in the 2008 class.
