Sibling reunification should never be underestimated. Mike Stoops rejoining his brother Bob Stoops at Oklahoma has not received a tremendous amount of media attention, but it is a huge deal for the program. The two share a very competitive relationship and will push each other to get Oklahoma football another national championship.
The 2011 Sooners did not quite live up to the expectations by finishing with a 10-3 record, when a national championship was expected. however, the team did finish the season out in style by taking care of Iowa 31-14 in the Insight Bowl. Winning a bowl game always gives a team a lot of momentum heading into the next season.
The 2012 team is going to play much closer to its potential and a big key to that is Mike Stoops bringing his energy and enthusiasm back into the program. Fans in Norman and all around the world should be prepared for the Oklahoma Sooners to possibly win the national championship next season.
