When someone gets one right they deserve a reprint. Below you'll find excerpts from Michael Booker's prediction of tech game published on LHB on 12-Jul-12.
Booker's Bold Prediction #3: Georgia Tech will only score one touchdown in Athens.
UGA- 42 tech-13
If there ever were a defensive unit that was custom stacked to defend the triple option, the one in Athens owns the title. When this unit was just a pack of pups back in 2010, they were able to slow down the outside pitch, but gave up way too many punishing yards up the gut. Insert Big John Jenkins. During this unit's break out party in 2011, the Bugs had no chance going up the middle, and were introduced to some kids named Jarvis Jones and Alec Ogletree who spent the fine fall afternoon stalking the pitchman and his posse.
In 2012, the grand finale for the the majority of this defense, the triple option will no longer be considered something they need to lose sleep over. I'm convinced Todd Grantham spends a little time every week of the year watching film of that Mickey Mouse scheme.
So why will the Nerds only find the endzone one time? We don't have a week off to prepare for it, but we have something much, much better....
Welcome to Athens, Georgia Southern Eagles: runners of the.... triple option!! We are so glad you've agreed to pay a visit to our fine city on the weekend before Clean Old Fashioned Hate and help us prepare to beat the pompous, hate driven institution in Atlanta worse than we have in years.
