After suffering a few blows lately on the recruiting trail, Florida State picked up its 16th commitment for the class of 2012 Friday with Miami Beach (FL) Senior High School athlete Ricardo Louis.
A letdown was certainly possible, as Florida State did everything right three days prior in an upset of North Carolina. But the Seminoles kept their mojo with a double-digit win Tuesday over Maryland.
Florida State has been recruiting the fertile grounds of Dade, Broward, Palm Beach and other southern counties in Florida with varying degrees of success. How does FSU's hit-to-miss ratio look the last three years? Nole Digest goes into detail here.
Maybe a year away from being a contender in 2011, Florida State has a chance to compete seriously for a national title in 2012. If the 'Noles are going to be special, these three players must bust out big.

Florida State's nationally-ranked indoor track & field teams will face plenty of competition Saturday at the Auburn Invitational, which is hosted by the Birmingham Crossplex.
Despite 27 points from sophomore Terrell Stoglin, the Terps were upended by Florida State 84-70.
