Sometimes situations arise that are just too ironic for words. According to sources, former LSU Tiger football players Jarrett Lee and T-Bob Hebert are set to be Grand Marshals, representing Metairie, Louisiana’s Zeus Krewe during Mardi Gras. You might think: Why is this ironic? Here’s why. Both Lee and Hebert did not play at all during the BCS National Championship– the reasons why are a little murky. Rumors exploded following the National Championship game that Hebert, Russell Shepherd and members of the coaching staff were a part of a heated argument with Les Miles about whether or not Jordan Jefferson should get the start at quarterback over fifth-year senior Jarrett Lee. Lee didn’t take a snap in the National Championship game, in spite of the poor performance by Jordan Jefferson, and instead wasted away on the LSU bench without even the chance to turn things around for a Tigers offense that was stagnant and ineffective.
