But the worst finish of the weekend undoubtedly belonged to Kansas' Todd Reesing, true American hero, ironic puppy connoisseur, sympathetic cougar lover and owner of every passing record in the Jayhawk books, whose final snap in his 38th consecutive start -- with KU nursing a late 39-36 lead with bowl eligibility on the line following a Missouri punt inside the Kansas five -- will go down as one of his worst:
Sacked in your own end zone to set up the winning field goal by your hated rival as time expires to knock your team out of the postseason: That's no way to end a fine career, especially on an otherwise brilliant afternoon for Reesing, who went out connecting on 37 of 55 passes for a career-high 498 yards and four touchdowns opposite the Jayhwaks' sieve-like defense. It is an appropriate ending, though, for one of the worst two-month stretches in Kansas' beleague...
