Gunner Kiel

Top QB prospect Gunner Kiel has decided to play his college football at LSU. Kiel had originally made the shocking decision to follow in his brother’s footsteps and play at Indiana, not exactly the epicenter of College Football. He later de-committed and selected LSU over Notre Dame and Vanderbilt. “I can’t wait to play in the SEC,” Kiel said.

The 6-foot-3, 215 pound Kiel threw for 2,517 yards with 28 TDs and just 4 interceptions in his senior season at Columbus East High School. Kiel is considered a 4-star recruit and the #2 QB by ESPNU. Rivals.com ranks him as a 5-star prospect and the #1 overall QB in the 2012 class. Kiel will enroll at LSU in January.

Kiel is a rocket-armed passer who can make all the throws and should thrive in Baton Rouge under the tutelage of Les Miles and his staff. “They are a great team and a great program,” Kiel told MyIndianaFootball.com “ I’m very blessed and lucky to be in this position.”

Gunner Kiel is the icing on the cake of another Top 5 recruiting class for Les Miles as the good times continue to roll in Death Valley.
