Rumors and Rants:
UCLA sent out an e-mail to its potential football recruits (at least we assume it was sent to multiple recruits) reminding them to tune in to the Bruins game at Arizona on Thursday night.
Ooo. Bad call.
As the above tweet by potential recruit Bryce Triggs indicates, that did not go well.
Not only were the Bruins destroyed 48-12 by an Arizona team playing its first game after firing coach Mike Stoops, they allowed the previously awful Wildcat rushing attack to gain 254 yards on the ground. Oh, they also got involved in a brawl when game officials turned their back while trying to apprehend a streaker who ran onto the field dressed as a referee.
Looks like ole Rick Neuheisel isn’t going to have another year to put a dent into that L.A. Football Monopoly that apparently ended some years back.

In Rick Neuheisel’s final game at the helm of the UCLA Bruins(we’re assuming anyways), the Bruins were set to go to the half trailing 42-7 tonight. The only problem? 2011 was a going to be a make or break year for UCLA Bruin’s head football coach Rick Neuheisel. After the Bruins 3-4 start it looks like this year is going to be a break for Neuheisel. T.J. Simers of the LATimes.com says Neuheisel’s time as coach of the UCLA Bruins is all but over. Especially after last nights 48-12 loss last night to the Arizona Wildcats, who had 1 win...
Whatever it was that Rick Neuheisel‘s UCLA team showed in a 48-12 thumping by Arizona, it wasn’t a competitive football team. The Wildcats, who had just one win this season (against 1-AA opponent Northern Arizona) and fired their coach Mike Stoops not two weeks ago, absolutely torched UCLA in every imaginable way tonight. Perhaps it was…

• I'm still here? Rick Neuheisel made it off the field with his job after Thursday night's 48-12 debacle at Arizona, and there are no reports of him being fired overnight. (Quite the opposite, in fact.) But there was no mistaking the diagnosis after UCLA's nationally televised death rattle: With a golden opportunity to keep pace in the Pac...
Yes, UCLA and Arizona brawled. Yes, the on-the-field action was terrible. And yes, Rick Neuheisel is likely to get fired after UCLA laid the egg of all eggs on a national showcase. None of these items of note, however, compare to the unbelievable actions of one individual who took zero snaps in the game. He [...]

Even if Rick Neuheisel dramatically turned around the team for the remainder of the season, there's no erasing the images and feelings from UCLA's debacle against Arizona...
Arizona fired its coach after its season careened out of control and could put another coach's job on the line with a win Thursday night.
UCLA, at 3-3 and 2-1 in the Pac-12, heads to the desert teetering between a potential turnaround and another disappointing season.
Coach Rick Neuheisel was already in a bit of hot water before the season and a loss to the struggling Wildcats...
By all rights, Thursday night's UCLA-Arizona tilt in Tucson should have been one of the most unwatchable games on television all season: One team that just fired its head coach on the heels of its fifth consecutive defeat, hosting another that's more than likely going to fire its head coach before the year is out. In fact, after watching his charges give up touchdowns on...
