Huskies Love ‘em Hate ‘em Style So much to like about this game. Just a great all-around performance by the Washington Huskies. This team is starting to look real good. Love ‘Em The O Bishop Sankey passed 1,000 yards on the season. Kasen Williams had seven catches, 73 yards, and a touchdown. Austin Seferian-Jenkins broke the all-time UW receptions record for tight ends. And Teeth Price finally made a reappearance,  as Keith Price was smiling plenty after his best game of the season. Quite simply, everything clicked on offense. Utah never had a chance. The D Justin Wilcox has turned this unit into a lethal bunch and a genuine strength of the team. The defense produced the usual assortment of sacks, turnovers, and three-and-outs as the other reason Utah never had a chance. Stat of the day? The D held Utah to 55 passing yards. The Huskies almost had three players with that many receiving yards on their own. Helmeted Swag For those of you who noticed (which I would hope is all of my readers with regular eyesight) UW was rocking the usual purple and gold helmets with a twist—a red, white, and blue “W” on the side. Cool helmets / Bigtime performance gave Price reason to smile vs. Utah (Photo: Bettina Hansen/SeattleTimes) Oregon’s status as coolest-helmeted-team in the Pac-12 may be in jeopardy. Bonus Love ‘Em: A Pac-12 Team in the National Championship Alabama’s loss Saturday to Texas A&M has dropped them to fourth in the latest AP polls. The ugly ducklings down  in Eugene are currently sitting in first. While I hate Oregon as much as the next decent human being, I hope for the sake of the Pac-12, and college football as a whole, that someone other than an SEC team wins the next national championship—it’s Oregons to lose. Some reflected glory on the Pac-12 from a Duck national championship wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world. Hate ‘Em Penalties Sark clearly isn’t reading my articles, because if he was, he would’ve noticed that I complain about penalties every single week. We can get away with it against mediocre teams, but like I’ve said before, it’s going to cost us a game someday if we don’t stop making boneheaded plays. Fumbles I frowned slightly when I heard the announcer say at one point that Price has had five fumbles in the past five games. While he did run it in for a touchdown in the second quarter, he fumbled the ball after he scored. It didn’t count, but was still a worrying reminder Price is having trouble absorbing hits this year. Utes What is a “Ute?” What kind of weird mascot is that? After extensive Googling and Wikipedia research, I have found the Utes are a Native American tribe that used to live in Utah. Okay, that’s fair, but still, pretty lame name. It’s up there with the Illinois Illini as most un-creative team names. Minor quarrels aside, this was one of the best games of the season for the Huskies. Things are really starting to click now, and the Huskies will head to Boulder next week to take on a struggling Colorado team. CLICK HERE TO CHECK OUT THE HUSKIES CLUBHOUSE PAGE AT NWSPORTSBEAT!
