Virginia Tech coach and special teams guru Frank Beamer delights in the fact that one of his best receivers, Danny Coale, also contributes not only as a punt returner, but even as a punter. More than that though, Beamer likes what Coale represents. Coale was not heavily recruited. Yet he'll enter Tuesday night's Sugar Bowl against Michigan as one of the most productive players in Virginia Tech history. Beamers says he takes great satisfaction in the success of Coale, whose lack of stars behind his name as a recruit belied how important he would become to the Hokies. The 6-foot, 200-pound Coale is second all-time at Virginia Tech in receptions with 157 and yards receiving with 2,541. Lately, he's been a part-time punter as well.
