TEAMS:

Thanks to Tyler Williams for the video. The BCS Championship Game has already supplied us with some great humor. Watch the fan in the background of this video try to spell out LSU. I never knew spelling a three letter school name would be so difficult. I expect to see more things like this throughout the game. I don’t know if it can top the Georgia Dwags fan, but it could be close.

LSU QB apologizes for title game

Jordan Jefferson did not play well in Monday's championship game loss to Alabama (to say the least), but at least he's taking responsibility for it and before moving on.

Bobby Hebert Rips Les Miles at Presser

Bobby Hebert is an LSU father, a member of the media and a man not afraid to bash Les Miles right... [[ This is a content summary only. Visit my website for full links, other content, and more! ]]

No. 1 LSU right at home in Superdome - any dome

Jordan Jefferson remembers nearly every second of the last time he played in the Superdome. He was the starting quarterback for Destrehan High School, and like so many kids growing up in Louisiana, was awed to be playing in New Orleans' football palace. By the end of the night, he'd led his school to its first state championship in 34 years. ''I've been in the...

There's No Doubt Who's No. 1: Alabama Is National Champions

When the final whistle blew back on November 5 ending the first LSU-Alabama showdown, I couldn’t help but get one nauseating, gut-wrenching, pit out of my stomach. No, it had nothing to do with the Mexican food I'd eaten earlier that night, but instead was the idea that I’d seen the best team in college football that night… and seen them lose. Above all, I couldnâ...

Les Miles Wins Liberty Mutual Coach of the Year Award

LSU coach Les Miles has already come out a winner before the BCS championship game. According to the AP, Miles won the Liberty Mutual Coach of the Year award after leading his top-ranked Tigers to a perfect regular-season record and an SEC championship. LSU plays Nick Saban’s No. 2 Alabama for the BCS national title tonight. The award is given to the coach who best exemplifies...

Alabama wins BCS title on strength of 3 point shooting

NEW ORLEANS—Stymied down low for most of the game by LSU’s vaunted defense, Alabama was forced to score from distance in order to capture victory in last night’s BCS title game. The Crimson Tide, whose strength wasn’t in their scoring, rode a hot streak as they went 5 for 7 from downtown. “We adapted tonight,” said Crimson Tide head coach Nick...

The spoils of victory? For Les Miles, about $5.7 million.

An LSU win over Alabama in tonight's BCS Championship Game would trigger two different clauses in Les Miles' contract that would increase his salary over the next six years, potentially making him the highest paid coach in the SEC and pushing to the brink of the $5 Million Club. Miles is currently the fourth-highest paid coach in the country at $3.75 million per year, not...

Miles: Expect 'big boy football' in BCS title game

After a bowl season full of offensive shootouts, LSU coach Les Miles says to expect some "big boy football" when his top-ranked Tigers take on No. 2 Alabama in BCS title game Monday night.

Saban: This Alabama championship team special

Alabama coach Nick Saban might have enjoyed this national championship a little bit more. Certainly, the celebratory dousing was more to his liking.

Alabama takes early 3-0 lead on LSU (AP)

Round 2 of Alabama-LSU was more of the same. Jeremy Shelley kicked a 23-yard field goal, set up by a 49-yard punt return by Marquis Maze, and No. 2 Alabama led No. 1 LSU 3-0 at the BCS championship game Monday night. The Southeastern Conference rivals met on Nov. 5 in what was dubbed the Game of the Century, and the Tigers won a touchdown-less, defensive standoff, 9-6 in overtime.

Miles misses out on pay boost with loss (AP)

Les Miles wound up one victory short of a hefty pay raise. The LSU coach already has a lucrative contract that pays him about $3.75 million a year and that runs through the 2017 season, thanks to a three-year extension he received last January. Clearly, he won't be hurting for cash. But he did miss out on a salary increase of nearly $1 million.
