Round 2 of Alabama-LSU was more of the same. Jeremy Shelley kicked a 23-yard field goal, set up by a 49-yard punt return by Marquis Maze, and No. 2 Alabama led No. 1 LSU 3-0 at the BCS championship game Monday night. Les Miles wound up one victory short of a hefty pay raise. The LSU coach already has a lucrative contract that pays him about $3.75 million a year and that runs through the 2017 season, thanks to a three-year extension he received last January. Clearly, he won't be hurting for cash. But he did miss out on a salary increase of nearly $1 million.
Tigers senior Brandon Taylor is looking to duplicate what big brother Curtis Taylor did in 2007.
