In what may go down as one of the craziest endings in college football history, the Michigan State Spartans crushed the National Championship dreams for the Wisconsin Badgers on Saturday night after completing a Hail Mary Pass as time expired.
With the game tied 31-31, Kirk Cousins threw up a Hail Mary towards the end zone with just a few seconds left that somehow ended up in the hands of Keith Nichol at the one-yard line after Wisconsin defenders appeared to have swatted the ball down. Instead, the ball ended up in Nichol’s hands and he fought his way across the goal line for the 44-yard touchdown catch to give Michigan State the 37-31 win.
It’s amazing how this game ended since Michigan State fought back from a 14-0 deficit by scoring 23 points in the second quarter and never trailed for the rest of the game.
