The University of Virginia has joined into the effort to help Boston College linebacker Mark Herzlich battle Ewing’s Sarcoma. The Wahoos will join the growing list of ACC schools, individual and other organizations which have/will join forces with Uplifting Athletes in support of research for the rare form of cancer.Virginia students will be collecting donations prior to Saturday's game against Duke, and a check will be presented to Herzlich Nov. 14. when the Eagles visit Charlottesville. In addition to the $31,500 the BC players raised through their “Lift For Life” event this summer, they have now received gifts from Dabo Swinney at Clemson, Orange Bowl officials, Florida State, Virginia Tech, N.C. State and Notre Dame coach Charlie Weis (hey, and everybody – including T.A.H.—thinks he’s a pr**k). The Eagles have raised more than $81,000 for Uplifting Athletes since they started their chapter in July.Nice, B.C. NICE!
