Clemson wide receiver Sammy Watkins has been named National Freshman of the Year by Rivals.com. Additionally, Watkins was named a first-team All-American on the site's overall team, and a first-team freshman All-American. Watkins was the only freshman nationally to be named first-team All-American by Rivals.

Clemson has lost three times at home to instate teams that ventured into Littlejohn Coliseum as underdogs. On Saturday, the Tigers head to Arizona in a game the oddsmakers say they will lose.
With just one more opportunity to notch a nonconference win that will impress the NCAA selection committee, Clemson has to play at a much higher level in Tucson than it did in home defeats...

Clemson defensive end Andre Branch was named a second-team All-American by the Walter Camp Foundation on Thursday evening. It was the second All-American team for Branch, who was also named a second-team All-American by CBSsportsline.com.
