Now that Antonio Margarito sits on top of the welterweight division, who should Antonio Margarito fight next? I. We want opinions - there are no right or wrong answers. Just let us know : 1. Who you want to see Margarito fight next. 2. Why you think that opponent would make a good fight. 3. Your hypothetical prediction. II. Let's kick off the discussion : Here's my take! I'd love to see Antonio Margarito fight Paul Williams again next. Both Margarito and Williams have tremendous work rates, chins and stamina. Within that context, Margarito is a brawler while Williams is a technician. Also, both have something to prove : Margarito that he just lost because he started slow; Williams that his first win over Margarito wasn't a fluke. This is a fight that would carry lots of action, and a good story. To put the cherry on top, Margarito-Williams II would be a welterweight title unifications fight to determine the top fighter in the division. I'm picking Antonio Margarito for the fact that his destruction of his last three opponents since fighting Williams - Golden Johnson, Kermit Cintron and Miguel Cotto - show that he's for real in learning the lessons of his Williams loss. Also, Paul Williams carries an explosive left, but it comes far and few between his smaller punches, and against Margarito, you need to hit him constantly with power to have a chance. Williams is a good technician, but he's no Money Mayweather - and if you aren't going to don't have that Mayweather footwork, then Margarito will eventually catch you. If Antonio Margarito and Paul Williams were to have a rematch, I'd pick Margarito via unanimous decision.

  • he should fight cotto again this time cotto needs to go back to his old fighting style instead of the way he fought marigto. He fought margito with the style the mosely taught him which worked in the first couple of rounds but proved to be his downfall in the late rounds. Cotto is a body puncher and the aggreser instead in this fight he chose to run all the time and not land any body punches. He is known to destroy his oppents with body punches and then finish them off in this fight he did not use that, margarito was the one to use that to his advangatage. And another thing that hurt him was always being on the ropes you cant do that with margito thats how he detroyed cotto. I would love to see a remach but this time with cotto fighting the old cotto style not the mosely style. And this time cotto has to contiune to strike. In this fight he would hit margito with one or two good power punches but run he needed to keep on attacking which he did not marigito did just that when he got a good power punch in he keep it up thats what cotto needed to do was to contiune punching not just throwing one or two good punches and the running around. I would love to see a rematch between these two again because this was one of the best boxing matches i have seen in a long time
  • no cotto , we saw that he can`t hurt margarito and cotto almost got knocked out in the 7th and 9th round , cotto fights beautiful , but at this waight his punches are not that powerfull ,it was just a matter of time before margarito knocke him out, I think margarito should fight paul williams or clottey. no zab please he is done.
  • no...zab please he is done . it over for him , time to retire. and no oscar he is to old and everyone know the out come of the fight . and mosley is to old . his prime is gone . it time to move on and fight the best ...
