Rather than getting a shot at a big-time football school, Boise State will face Utah in the MAACO Bowl in Las Vegas. Boise State had the ultimate chance to become the biggest Cinderella in the history of athletics. And then, Broncos place-kicker Kyle Brotzman missed two chip shot field goal attempts against Nevada to ruin the story for all the orange and blue crazed kids out there. But why does one miscue mean that Boise gets matched up with Utah in a bowl game? Is it coincidence, or on purpose? If college football is all about money, and clearly it is, then why on heaven's earth is Boise State matched up with Utah in a game being played in a desert? Don't we want to see Boise State against the big guys? Don't we want to see if Boise can run with the big dogs so next year when they are miraculously 10-0 again and clamoring for a shot at the National Championship that we might consider them worthy?
