Let me simplify the replay in baseball argument for everybody: if you're against it, then you're an idiot. I'm looking at you Joe Morgan, Kevin Kennedy, and anyone else who has spoken up against replay over the last few weeks. What is it about baseball that makes everyone so afraid of progression and change? Here's some of the stupider points people make against instant replay:

  • Agreed.
  • Seconded.
Maybe they wanna return the broadcasts to the days of radio.
All that color, and now HD, kills the human element and makes the umps feel insecure.
  • Third. Replay is well overdue. I wrote about it last year when Holliday missed the plate to win the game.

  • I'm not sure replay would have mattered for that play. It wasn't conclusive enough to overturn the call.
  • I dislike instant replay in all sports. Even football.
  • they should only use replay in the instance of homeruns. there have been several calls in the past few weeks that are really just guesses by the officials. but human error is part of the sport, so we should try to retain its integrity. only home runs should be officially reviewed. base calling and catches should stay the same.
  • I'm sick of all these moron's on TV who don't shut up about the 'history' of the game, and how things shouldn't be changed. I suggest they get with the times and quit being stubborn old fools. Umpires shouldn't determine the outcome of a game, and instant replay will eliminate their mistakes.
