Washington State athletic director Bill Moos says he'll make a decision on football coach Paul Wulff's future within 24 hours.
On his weekly radio show Monday morning in Spokane, Moos said he will make a decision by Tuesday at the latest on whether to keep Wulff for a fifth season or move in a different direction.
Wulff is 9-40 in his four seasons in charge at Washington State, including a 4-8 campaign this season that doubled the Cougars' win total from 2010 but still failed to quiet critics. Moos said he has to decide if ''staying the course'' is the right decision to energize the Cougars fan base.

At one point this season, probably in early October just before the Cougars blew a game at UCLA, it looked like the Apple Cup might carry some added intrigue for once.

Lack of playmakers apparent in Apple Cup loss
SEATTLE -- Patience. Washington State coach Paul Wulff long has maintained that the only way to restore the program and become a top-tier Pac-12 presence was through building a base of young talent.
