Anderson's Good Week One for the Herd
Despite the questions, and the detractors, Brian Anderson came out and had a career performance for Marshall University against Southern Illinois.
Granted he has had a short career and a rocky one at that. Then there is also the glaringly true statement that the start was against a Football Championship Subdivision opponent. After you set aside those points and ignore the first few...

The White Sox Sign Scott Podsednik To Minor League Deal
With Dewayne Wise now on the disabled list thanks to a trial separation between his arm and torso the White Sox have been forced to call up Jerry Owens from Charlotte to fill his spot on the roster. Though Owens will be on the bench this afternoon as Brian Anderson gets the start in centerfield.Still, it seems the prospect of having Jerry Owens on the roster really hit home with Kenny Williams

Dewayne Wise Seperates Shoulder
The battle for the White Sox starting centefield job this spring wasn't exactly epic, but when the dust had finally settled, it was minor-league journeyman Dewayne Wise who had emerged victorious against Brian Anderson and Jerry Owens. And when I say victorious, I mean the least harmful...Continue reading at FanHouse

Melky On The Block?
I mentioned in my last post that if I were Brian Cashman I'd consider dealing Melky Cabrera. According to Ken Rosenthal at Fox Sports, the Yankees are looking into it, telling teams they're open to the idea. They better be open to the idea. It doesn't make any sense not to be open to it. Gardner is the obvious choice for the starting CF job. Nick Swisher is the 4th...

Yanks Shopping The Melk Man?

By trading him, the team could open at-bats for Nick Swisher, who was beaten out by Xavier Nady in right field but also plays center, left and first. The Yankees...

A Look At TBS' Pairings For The Opening Round Of The MLB Playoffs
TBS has all four of the opening round series during the 2008 MLB Playoffs and they have finally released the pairings for each of them. TBS had some interesting choices with whom to put with whom, and where to send their top team, but in the end I think they did the best they could. The top team of Chip Caray and Buck Martinez get to go L.A. for the Sox and Angels, and here are...

TBS Releases List Of Announcers Who Will Be Calling The MLB Playoffs
Last year it seemed like the "very funny" TBS crews were hastily put together without much thinking and a lot of local guys (Don Orisillo) were grabbed up at the last minute. TBS tried to nip that in the bud this year by hiring some people in the middle of the season, and even though they still picked up some locals, I think they have a good collection of leads and analysts...
